The Cox’s Mill Hotel is a delightful 19^th century converted water mill set in the beautiful, un-spoilt countryside of Cheddar Gorge in Somerset. We have a reputation for being a very comfortable and friendly establishment, which knows how to look after its guests.

Painting on holiday is a wonderful idea - two of life's great pleasures combined. Creating the right atmosphere is essential if you want to concentrate on your painting and we offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself totally and completely in your pastime. Being with like minded people ensures a stimulating and enjoyable holiday and an aspiring artist will learn best by actually seeing ideas and techniques demonstrated under the guidance of a helpful tutor. We are able to boast painting tutors of the highest caliber - all professional painters in their own right. We are working with Cheddar Gallery and well known and respected local artist Terry Pegg who will be using our facilities for painting holidays that they have organised. There are courses on offer throughout the year, of varying length and content and Cheddar Gallery and Terry’s Studio are definitely worth a visit whilst your here. However, we are not just a centre for painting holidays. There is much more on offer in this area of stunning natural beauty so spouses, partners and children will be kept well occupied.

Be inspired by the waterfall in our grounds that is a feature for any artist. We have the best subject matter that any artist could wish for. All we need is passionate artists to come and spend a few exciting hours painting and drawing in the company of other artists. The rest of the time will be for you to enjoy painting or relaxing in the hotel with good wine and good food.
